SLA Fact Sheet
* SLA is an apartment setting with 8 apartments, 2 people to each apartment. We have one 3-11 two 3-10 and one 4-9 shifts during the week.
* Duties within SLA: Cooking, Cleaning, Education, Passing Medications, Teaching people to take their medications on their own, laundry, menu making, budgeting, and shopping.
* A Typical Day:
* On a day to day basis we assist people with all of their usual daily routine; assistance can vary from a verbal reminder to hand over hand assistance.
* We help people achieve their goals that they set each year at their ISP ( this could include going on a trip, studying for their driver’s license, to increasing their mobility.)
* Good time management skills are important to ensure that all daily tasks are completed.
* On the weekend:
* WE: go to movies, play games (board games and outside games) go to sporting events, spend 1:1 quality time with staff, attend concerts, go on trips, go fishing. The people who live here have very different activities they like so there is a large variety of activities to do.
* Within SLA the work is tough at times, but the people we support are amazing folks. It takes a lot of
team work for SLA to run like a well oiled machine. It is important to be positive, upbeat and flexible
to work the best with each individual we support. Due to the large caseload good time
management skills are important to ensure that all daily tasks are completed. SLA is a great place!
