Hillcrest Fact Sheet

* Hillcrest supports 7 people on a daily basis. 3 people work at the center and 4 people work with a 
   Day Services program.

* Duties within Hillcrest: Hillcrest has a lot of personal cares, OT/PT, and some people who use a
   stander to help strengthen their lower body, as four of the people who live at Hillcrest are in wheel
   chairs. We do have a lot of special diets at our house & most of the people we support need
   assistance with meals.

* A Typical Day
          * One 3p-11p staff, One 3p-9p staff and One 4p-8p staff. Pick up people from work, cook meals,        give baths, give meds, OT/PT, stander, help people get read for bed, general housekeeping,     documentation.

* On the weekend:
          * People love one on one time with staff, walks when the weather is nice, playing catch, painting nails, arts and crafts. Some of the activities   that we do: go to the movies, swimming, going out to eat, baking, SDSU sports events, walks to the park ,Sioux Falls trips, zoo trips, attend Twins games, watch/go to the races.

* Within Hillcrest: Some clients cannot speak with words but they have their own unique ways of
   communicating, it takes time to get familiar with these individuals ways of communication. We have 
   a lot of family involvement at Hillcrest. Most people go home every other weekend. Parents do call a  
   few times a week and like to know when a person is sick, has a new med, etc. We have some big   
   sports fans at our house (Twins, Jacks, Viking & Packers) and we love watching games either on the 
   TV or going to the game.
